The organizations are always susceptible to the occurrence of adverse events that may cause unplanned interruptions in their activities and directly affect their business, how was evidenced by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Continuity Management embodies take a fundamental role in increasing the organization resilience and enable them to be prepared to answer the moments of crisis. The Teaching Institutions are also inserted in this context. The goal of this work is to propose a model, using methodologies and management tools for analysis and improvement, that may help these institutions to deploy a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) which will serve as a support to Crisis Management. From the interaction between the literature review and practical application, we arrive at the proposed model, presenting its general structure and procedure for implementation. The bibliometric study together with the systematic review was applied to identify inputs and key factors for the construction of the model. Subsequently, the best tools to meet the essential composition elements goal's of the BCP were defined, based on literature analysis. To validate it, the model was applied and tested by a Study of Case at a Fluminense Federal Institute's sector of Academic Registry. 8 Key Elements we're identified, organized in 4 steps with the most adequate tools and methods for each one. The model has shown itself viable and of great relevance for the institutions, allowing them to improve their maturity level regarding their relation with the Continuity Management and to be more prepared in moments of crisis. Besides the focus on Educational Institutions, the model shows a proposal that enables their application in organizations of several sectors.
